Preaching is a living activity. The delivery of the Word is meant to be deeply informed by the relationship between pastor and people. There can be no substitute for being present in your own assembly when the Word is preached by your own minister. We strongly encourage you to listen regularly and receptively to the Word preached by your own teaching elder.
With that in mind, we offer the following sermons. If you find them helpful we would be more than happy to hear from you and to get to know you.
Pictures of Salvation: God Feeds the Hungry (Genesis 42:1-5, Genesis 43:1-10, Genesis 45:1-11, Genesis 47:12)
Psalms for singing
Psalm 107 stanzas 1-6
Psalm 146A stanzas 1-5
Joseph is a signpost to Jesus, and the salvation Joseph worked is a picture of the salvation Jesus has achieved for us.
1. Jacob's family faces death by starvation--our hunger for transcendence, significance, and relationship gnaws at our hearts and threatens us with a lingering spiritual death
2. Joseph sustains his father's family with food--Jesus gave himself for the life of the world, and we are to feed on him by faith
