Preaching is a living activity. The delivery of the Word is meant to be deeply informed by the relationship between pastor and people. There can be no substitute for being present in your own assembly when the Word is preached by your own minister. We strongly encourage you to listen regularly and receptively to the Word preached by your own teaching elder.

The Importance of Godly Elders (Titus 1:5-16)
Paul's commission to Titus is to work for the growth of the Cretan believers in godliness. But since there can be no true godliness without true doctrines (Titus 1:1; 2:1), Titus' priority must be the appointment of godly elders who are able to teach and apply Scripture faithfully and accurately. Paul makes this point positively and negatively:
1. Negatively (vv. 10-16), false teachers subvert godliness in the members of the church
2. Positively (vv. 5-9), qualified elders foster godliness in the members of the church by teaching and defending the truth
